This rare, old bartender's recipe book, entitled, 100 FAMOUS COCKTAILS, is published by Kenilworth Press, Inc. in collaboration with Oscar Of The Waldorf, and the Waldorf-Astoria.
This first edition is published and printed in 1934. A rare, very hard to find cocktail book.
The bar at the famed Waldorf Astoria, including the old Waldorf (which was razed to make room for the Empire State building), was long the haunt of many of the rich and famous. Buffalo Bill Cody. Mark Twain and J. Pierpoint Morgan were regulars. As the title suggest, this book gives detailed recipes for 100 famous cocktails of the day. There are instructions on proper etiquette and choosing the correct glassware. Also included, is a history of the Waldorf bar, and a short history of the consumption of wines and liquors.
This book is in good over-all condition for it's age. The interior is clean and tight. The front and rear boards show some wear. A small piece of the spine is missing. (See images.) The book is 4"w- 6" tall with thin hard covers, not cloth.
